Arriving & Gates
Arrive 90 minutes before kickoff minimum. For noon matches add extra time — fans arrive in waves from Caltrain and lines peak 60 to 75 minutes before kickoff. Gate D on the east side typically moves faster than Gate A on the south. All entry requires a clear bag (12"x6"x12" max) or a small clutch (4.5"x6.5").
🚆
Getting There
Caltrain to Mountain View then VTA light rail to Great America Station. Add 30 extra minutes to your plan from SF. Driving: Lots open 3 hours before kickoff. Budget $50 to $80 cash. Rideshare pickup after the match: Gate F / Tasman lot, not the main entrance.
☀️
Weather to Expect
Noon kickoffs: Open bowl, Silicon Valley sun. Bring sunscreen, a hat, water. West-side upper deck is fully exposed. Evening kickoffs: Starts warm, marine layer drops it to 55°F by halftime. Bring a layer you can tie around your waist.
🎒
What to Bring
Allowed: One clear bag, one small clutch, sealed water bottle up to 1 liter, sunscreen, medication in original packaging. Not allowed: Backpacks, cans, glass, selfie sticks, large umbrellas, laser pointers, noisemakers, outside food.
🍔
Food & Drink
Stadium food runs $18 to $25 per item. Concession lines peak at halftime — buy before kickoff or wait until the 30-minute mark when lines thin out. The fan zone near Great America Station has cheaper options if you arrive early enough to eat before entering.
📱
Tickets & Phone
Download your ticket before you arrive and screenshot it as a backup. Stadium Wi-Fi handles large crowds but do not depend on it. Charge your phone fully. Concourse tunnels and bathrooms are signal dead zones. International visitors: check roaming settings before arriving.
